Exhibition Opportunities!!

Hello Art and Design:

In just a couple of weeks, we will be collecting work for two juried student art exhibition opportunities in the Rueff Galleries. Please encourage your students to enter!

We are collecting entries February 8 – 10, 2016, in the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries.

A&D Undergraduate Exhibition Quick Points
·         Enter up to three works in any medium, but work must be created as part of an A&D course
·         2D works do not have to be framed for entry, but will need to be “exhibition ready” for exhibit, if selected
·         $700 in scholarship awards will be presented in the following areas: Three in Fine Art, Three in Design, One in Photography. Honorable mention awards will be presented as well.
·         Exhibition dates are February 23 – March 24, 2016, in the Patti & Rusty Rueff Galleries
·         Details are available in the gallery and online:https://www.cla.purdue.edu/academic/vpa/rueffgalleries/Undergraduate/index.html

Westwood Quick Points
·         Undergraduate *and* graduate students are eligible to enter
·         Enter up to four works in any medium; work does not have to be created as part of an A&D course
·         2D works do not have to be framed for entry, but will need to be “exhibition ready” for exhibit, if selected
·         Work will be on display in Westwood, the home of Purdue’s president
·         Work is on display for six months, and Westwood is not a public exhibition space. Artists will be invited to the house for an exhibition reception at some point during the exhibit.
·         Details are available in the gallery and online:https://www.cla.purdue.edu/academic/vpa/rueffgalleries/Westwood/index.html

We will be collecting work for both competitions at the same time this year, and students may enter and exhibit the same piece in both shows (there will not be a schedule conflict). Motivated by numbers? Last year, the Undergraduate Exhibition had 107 entrants submit 235 pieces and 110 works were accepted. Westwood averages about 50 entrants per show, each entering 2-3 pieces with about 50 works accepted. Let’s increase those entry numbers and make some great shows!
